Surgical Technologist

If you are interested in pursuing a career in an intense medical environment and are comfortable around blood and people undergoing operations, you may want to consider a career as a surgical technologist.

The Surgical Technologist training program offered at The Chubb Institute can qualify you for entry-level employment in this in-demand field. As a surgical technologist, you are a vital part of the operating room team and are responsible for setting up surgical equipment for use in operations.

During an operation, you observe the patient's vital signs, pass instruments and may be required to assist in certain aspects of the actual surgery. Our Surgical Technologist program prepares you for all of the above and more with training in:

• Anatomy and physiology of the body
• CPR certification
• Application of surgical bandages
• Preparation of patients for surgery
• Sterilization and setup of surgical materials
• Lab and operating room procedures

Once you successfully complete this diploma program, you will be qualified for entry-level employment as a surgical technologist and can pursue employment in places like:

• Hospital operating rooms
• Delivery rooms
• Clinics
• Surgical centers
